It was great to see a mention of Resnais/Robbe-Grillet's 'Last Year in Marienbad' in Ballardian terms - I had this film in my mind a great deal when reading Super-Cannes for the first time for the reasons mentioned. For some reason, I never knew that Ballard a fan of the film. Like Orwell, for Ballard it has never been about predicting the future or as things are "going to be".
