Crash Wins Best Picture Oscar!

He may have missed out for History of Violence, but he did win for Crash….

In a huge Academy Awards boilover, we witnessed a rare victory for auto-eroticism and body horror, so let’s hear it for David Cronenberg and J.G. Ballard! Congratulations chaps!

As was reported last year:

David Cronenberg says he ‘hates’ the decision to name the Paul Haggis-directed movie Crash. ‘Functionally, it’s stupid. Once they’re both on the DVD shelves, there’s going to be confusion.’ “

But the Oscar win for Haggis now means loads more people will rent the Cronenberg by accident, not vice versa…so, Dave — every cloud…
